If you were going on tour or a road trip or something and could only bring one comedy record/podcast/etc to listen to, what would it be?

Don't really know about comedy records, Louis CK is my favorite comedian, so whatever he has out. As far as podcast go, Kevin Smith and Ralph Garmon's Hollywood Babble-On is really funny.

Great question! Either "Why Do I Do This" by Bill Burr, "Hilarious" by Louis C.K., or "Shakespeare" by Anthony Jeselnik. Sure, "Shakespeare" isn't very long, but it's devastating. He's like Steven Wright if Wright was sick instead of quirky. Gilbert Gottfried is nuts, too. His clip on the Joan Rivers Roast about her vagina is unreal.

The Best Show on WFMU is perfect for road trips.

Scharpling's show is about the only talk/comedy thing I listen to regularly. Which is kinda sad because I don't even laugh at most of them. But he has excellent taste. I like all the "comedians of comedy" type people but haven't really listened to any of their material in a while. Thanks for the suggestions.

Is Doug Stanhope big over there? Seen him twice here, and he was great. He was also really good in 'Louie' recently. Don't know about podcasts, though.

The Derek and Clive LPs are great.

That episode is awesome. "Louie" is such a great show, but I think the last episode of this season aired on the 8th. Can't wait for the new season.

Louis CK's "Chewed Up" is the best stand-up of the last 10 years, hands down.

Dave Chapelle's album is one of my favorites for roadtrips. Mitch Hedberg's albums are a close second.

Gilbert Gottfried's autobiography audiobook, read by himself. It's amazing.

That's good to know. I've always appreciated his brand of filth. When we met Joan Rivers, I asked about his appearance on her Comedy Central Roast. She said he did 20 minutes on banging Jackie O. that was not aired & is insane. I hope to find that footage some day.

For the record. I'm not saying it offends me, that shit is too easy and just not funny. However, this IS funny.

I don't know why I didn't mention it, but the Dion McGregor Dreams Again CD that Phil Milstein put together some decade ago is absolutely unreal & has to be heard to be believed.

i can understand that.

ok, there was this comedian that was talked about here around 5 years ago. this guy was pretending to be french, talking to an american girlfriend about her artwork and how he hated it, but with an accent she heard heard it as "i ate your paintings." who was that? shit was riotous.

I'm pretty good at listening to Coyle & Sharp for a couple of hours, too.

Comedy is not funny. This is the kind of boring crap that killed the Goner Board to begin with. Yawn.

I bet you losers were into Gabe Kaplan and liked to "get small." The
ONLY funny comdedian was Richard Pryor. And Johnny Carson.
