Goner Message Board / ???? / Podcasts?
Posted: Nov 4, 2009 4:24 am
Aside from archived WFMU shows I have not really been into downloading podcasts. But I've been working from home a lot lately and I'm tired of picking out records and then having to flip them every 20 minutes just for some background music.

So, what are some good podcasts? are the garagepunk.com ones worth a damn? I'm looking for something kind of eclectic and all over the map, not just one genre. and not a lot of talking unless it's funny.

Never listen to Bazooka Joe. The guy works in a grocery store. Speaking of which, I think Brad still has a podcast.

I dunno, something less kitschy I guess. Halloween was last week.
Posted: Nov 4, 2009 6:33 am
it's not all halloween shit. it's mostly a horror movie synopsis show with a bit music in between. the link i gave above has all 15 of his shows.

Sounds like something I'd rather listen to while I'm driving around in my hearse.

back to wfmu?
Posted: Nov 4, 2009 6:51 am
used to write for that, yup
Posted: Nov 4, 2009 6:54 am
yeah but the problem with WFMU is most of the good shows are not available as a download. You can only stream them, which means I can't put them on an MP3 player and then play on my stereo. I know, wah wah wah... anyway I was just curious as to what's out there that I've been missing.

speaking of WFMU podcasts is anyone else sick of Scharpling's show?
Posted: Nov 4, 2009 6:55 am

If I can get off my ass this week, I'll start doing my podcast again.
The old shows are still at http://www.monkeybeatcity.com
I'm all over the map on what I play. It's pretty common for me to start a show with Goner bands, move on to power pop, and end up with hardcore punk or Kris Kristofferson.

Hasn't posted for awhile, but they'll all be new to you.
